Junior Fox Hunting Clinic

Event Overview:

This clinic is designed for young riders ages 10-18 to learn all about fox hunting, from attire and etiquette to the skills required for riding across the country. Participants must be able to competently trail ride to attend.

Requirements:

• Boots
• Breeches
• ASTM-approved riding helmet
• Bring plenty of water for you and your horse

Schedule of Events

Day 1: Friday

• Location: Millington Stables, 3361 Millington Rd., Free Union, VA 22940
• Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
• Cost: $45.00 per rider

Sessions:

1. Morning: Start in the ring to learn and practice exercises important for hunting.
2. Field Practice: Move to the fields and woods to continue learning safe skills and proper terminology used while hunting.

Day 2: Sunday

• Location: Farmington Hunt Club, 5926 Wesley Chapel Rd., Free Union, VA 22940
• Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
• Cost: $30.00 per rider (Must participate in Day 1 to attend)
• Includes: Demonstration on proper hunting attire following the hunt.

Session:

1. Morning: Participate in a live fox hunt! Junior and senior riders from the clinics will ride in groups suitable to their abilities.

Registration:

1. Complete entry form
2. Upload negative Coggins
3. Sign waiver (FHC waivers are valid for life if previously signed.)
